Mitch Rosen holsters is officially called “Mitch Rosen Extraordinary Gunleather, and is based in Manchester, NH. Rosen is a full custom shop that really focuses on concealed carry holsters. Most everything from Rosen is done in cowhide, although he does offer various levels of cowhide leather.
Mitch’s holster offerings cover about ever type of CCW gun holster you could image, except for one: small of the back holsters. Mitch absolutely refuses to produce any SOB style holsters as he considers them extremely dangerous to use. Rosen has a couple of different versions of holsters including a basic Express line, Standard line, and Slimline. The Express line features most of the popular Rosen holsters, but these are done without any handboning or blocking. The standard line is Rosen’s mid-level line that does feature all the bells and whistles including handboning. His Slimline series is his top of the line holster models. The Slimline is comprised of IWB holsters only, and they are about the thinnest holster you will ever see. Mitch’s Slimline isn’t cheap as prices start around $200-$225.
In addition to the different holster lines that Rosen makes, he also does holsters in exotic skins like shark, elephant, and stingray. Mitch’s exotic holsters get very expensive very fast, but are absolutely beautiful holsters. He is also one of the few holster makers that will do holsters in shell cordovan, which is a very expensive derivative of horsehide.
While Rosen makes nearly every type of concealed holster you can imagine, his IWB holsters are probably the most popular. He offers IWB holsters to fit most any need whether it be crossdraw or deep concealment.
Be aware that all of Mitch’s holsters are extremely tight when they are first made, and will take some definite time and effort to break-in. Mitch has the rights to a product called Leather Lightning that will drastically speed up the break-in period.
While delivery times may vary, Rosen generally averages between 6-8 weeks for his Standard and Slimline series, and around 3-4 weeks for the Express line. Mitch is very forward thinking and has taken some older holster designs to a whole new level. Although Mitch’s holsters aren’t the least expensive custom holsters on the market, they are certainly worth the money.
